MODALITY was set up by their director, Jenny Ewington, in September 2011 starting with a few of her vocal student and since that time the choir has grown to include students from West Hatch, Trinity, Forest, King Solomon and Woodbridge High schools. The choir rehearses weekly in South Woodford and has performed at a number of prestigious ‘Livery’ events in London, at local functions and also in the local community raising money for charity. In 2014 the choir won 1st prize in two choral classes at Stratford and East London Music Festival and has been invited to perform with South West Essex Choir in performances of Will Todd’s Mass in Blue and Alexander Le Stranges’s African influenced Zimbe.

JENNY EWINGTON is based in Woodford and is a professional singing teacher, choral director, vocal arranger and performer. Amongst her notable student successes are Jonathan Antoine and Charlotte Jaconelli, who were runners up in Britain’s Got Talent (2012), and who have subsequently gone on to performance careers and recording deals with Sony UK.

MATT LOWRIE is a freelance musician and songwriter. As well as being Modality’s resident accompanist, he accompanyies Chigwell Row Operatic, works as Musical Director for Loughton Youth Theatre and collaborates with local Hip Hop sensation Mike Skills
